Dr. Baik was born in Seoul, Korea and immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of five. He grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. After college, Dr. Baik ventured out to Philadelphia to attend Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where after four years he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree.
The post-graduate years consisted of two year surgical residency training in Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The training included reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, biomechanics, trauma surgery, and diabetic foot management. Dr. Baik also received a sixteen month certificate in diabetic wound care and limb salvage. Although school equipped him with the knowledge of traditional time tested procedures, it was during residency that he was challenged “hands on” by newer, more advanced technology and procedures.
After residency, Dr. Baik worked as an associate in a practice in Loma Linda and Apple Valley, working alongside three other podiatrists for three years. During his time there, Dr. Baik was able to further refine and hone his medical management and surgery.
He has now emerged in Orange County, opening up a new practice in Tustin. The practice he took over had been operating for over twenty years and has served the Tustin community well. Dr. Baik hopes to continue the care of the existing patients as well as welcome any and all new patients in the nearby areas. He encourages patients to seek his care, no matter how small the concern. Dr. Baik believes when it comes to the foot, there is no such thing as a small concern. Dr. Baik enjoys meeting people and hopes to provide personalized care to each and every patient. Therefore, he offers a flexible schedule in order to try and accommodate people’s busy lifestyles. The most important and satisfying aspect of his career is his ability to improve someone’s health and make his or her life better.
Dr. Baik is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is currently on staff at Western Medical Center - Santa Ana and Chapman Medical Center - Orange. Dr. Baik aspires to help and give back to the nearby communities with podiatric education through presentations, volunteering at charity runs/walks as well as health fairs, and involving himself with local sports teams.
